Description: This work is signed by the artist upper right and it is signed again on the backboard and dated August 1947. It is in good overall condition save for a minor stain in the sitter's hair at centre right. The drawing is housed in a good quality frame of the period from a very good maker, Wheatley & Holman then of 3, Litchfield Street, Charing Cross Road, London WC2. The frame is no doubt the original and it does have nearly eighty years of relatively minor wear and tear.
